About Indian Law Report - Karnataka Series

The office of the Karnataka Law Reporting Council was formally established and recognized by the issuance of Government Notification No. DPAR 125 SHC 80, dated September 26th, 1983. This notification marked the official commencement of the council's operations and outlined its responsibilities and jurisdiction within the state of Karnataka. The Karnataka Law Reporting Council plays a crucial role in the legal landscape, ensuring accurate and comprehensive reporting of judicial decisions and facilitating access to legal information for practitioners, judicial officers, litgants and the public.

INDIAN LAW REPORTS KARNATAKA SERIES

The Indian Law Reports, Karnataka Series, are fortnightly publications issued on the 1st and 15th of each month by the Karnataka Law Reporting Council under the Government of Karnataka's authority. These reports serve as the official record of judicial decisions within the state, providing legal professionals, scholars, and the public with reliable and authoritative legal information. They encompass judgments, orders, and rulings from the High Court of Karnataka and significant decisions from the Supreme Court of India, contributing to transparency and legal scholarship.


Is being published fortnightly from July 1, 1984 containing –

JOURNAL comprising news of appointment, confirmation and retirement of Judges of the High Court of Karnataka.

Development and Maintenance: The e-ILR (Electronic India Law Reports) application is developed and maintained by the Office of the Registrar Computers. This entails the creation, enhancement, and upkeep of the software, ensuring its functionality, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Content Management: The content within the e-ILR application, such as legal documents, Judgements, records, and related information, is managed by the Office of the Karnataka Law Reporting Council. This includes tasks like organizing, editing, updating, and verifying the accuracy and relevancy of the content available through the application.

Hosting: The e-ILR application is hosted by NIC (National Informatics Centre), Bengaluru. Hosting involves providing the necessary infrastructure, servers, and technical support to ensure that the application is accessible and operational for its users. This includes tasks like server management, data backup, and ensuring uptime and reliability.
